We fund Pre-School Education for children aged 4-6 years at our three municipal schools located in the slum areas of Topsia, Tangra and Khidderpore. We also provide an extensive Coaching Programme for all students attending local government schools.

We are very proud of our latest endeavor providing adult education for the parents & grandparents of our students, who never had the opportunity to avail of schooling.

We provide nutritious meals on a daily basis to all our Pre-School students through a Lunchtime Meal Programme aimed at eliminating hunger in the classroom. It greatly helps to promote school enrollment, improve their nutritional levels and nurture their academic performance.

We are funding a thriving Vocational Training Programme called the Diamond Project. This programme teaches more than 50 vulnerable girls from our marginalized communities the noble Skills of tailoring and handicraft production. On completion of a two-year intensive course each graduate receives a sewing machine. This process allows them to make money and help their families from an early age.

• We employ 26 wonderfully dedicated staff, who we lovingly refer to as members of the Tangra FOC Family as many of whom have been with us for over 20 years.

100% of all donations received go directly to fund our work in Kolkata. We are totally dependent on local donations and this generosity is highly valued and acknowledged. It is our aim to achieve the FCRA status (Foreign Country Regulations Act) for Tangra FOC, when foreign funding already pledged from Ireland & other countries can be availed of. This will greatly enhance all our collective efforts to serve all students to the maximum of our capabilities.
